South facade of the General Assembly Building
Post-renovation
In contrast to the curving east and west walls and roof, the south side is a huge plate-glass window, 53-1/2 (16 m) high, set in a deeply recessed marble frame through which the delegates' entrance and lobby are visible. The all-glass facade, turned toward the Secretariat and the Library, shares their architectural language of bold geometry and transparency.
