Security Council Chamber
Post-renovation
The Security Council's primary responsibility is to maintain international peace and security. Fifteen members are in the Security Council: five permanent members (China, France, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States) and ten non-permanent members elected for a two-year term by the General Assembly. The President of the Security Council rotates every month.
