The work is a 1964 detail study of the memorial to Sibelius in Helsinki. The original Sibelius monument which, like the gift to the United Nations, resembles organ pipes and is said to emit al low sound like a sighing during stormy weather. The stainless steel sculpture, celebrates the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. |
