Dickens's Second Visit to America:
In 1867, Dickens spent Christmas in America during his second and last visit. It was during this time that the Christmas story No Thoroughfare, written jointly by Dickens and his friend Wilkie Collins, was published in England. On display are original copies of this story. Dickens wrote a lot about railways as shown in this letter written when he was in Springfield, Mass. |
