Toynbee tiles are back! This one was photographed by the Smithsonian's Donald Reynolds Center (National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum) this week. The original tiles are described on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toynbee_tiles and a documentary "Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles". After the original Toynbee tiles, there were Stikman Robots which have swept through several east coast cities. |
