The muster roll for Fort Sacramento, from November 1846 to March 1847. The garrison was mostly California Indians who had worked for Sutter. Edward Kern was in charge; John Sutter served as Lieutenant.

Edward Kern wrote this letter to his brother in July 1846. He included a sketch of some of the "Bear Flaggers" which is the only known image of the inside of the Fort.
