The Smithsonian museums reopened on Tuesday (except for the Renwick Gallery which is still removing the Burning Man exhibit) after the 35-day Trump Shutdown. But rain, snow, and ice forecasts kept most people away. As a result, I got to see something at the National Portrait Gallery that I'd never seen before -- the President Barack Obama portrait without a huge crowd of people waiting to stare, photograph, and be photographed with.
