Lakpa Rita Sherpa is a senior climbing guide with Alpine Ascents International and one of the most experienced in the Himalaya. He has summited Everest 17 times in 25 expeditions, guiding a record 253 climbers on the summit. Lakpa is one of the only Sherpa working as a full-time mountain guide around the world, leading expeditions in Alaska, Antarctica, and South America. He is the first Nepali to summit the highest peaks on all seven continents. Lapka has been profiled in National Geographic Magazine and was named an Adventurer of the Year by Outside Magazine in 2013.
