There are very few pieces of furniture that are considered significant to the National Woman's Party: The Susan B. Anthony desk; the Elizabeth Cady Stanton chair; the table where the World Woman's Party incorporation appers were signed, and this desk. Said to have belonged to Henry Clay, it was brought over from the Old Brick Capitol headquarters. Alice Paul, Abby Scott Baker, Anita Pollitzer, and many NWP leaders used this desk to manage the campaign for the Equal Rights Amendment. |
