Missal. Spain. 1615
A missal is a service book containing the texts necessary for the performance of the Mass (including chants, prayers, and readings), together with ceremonial directions.
This missal contains only chants of the celebrant and the responses of the choir (the antiphonal) and the congregation.
Translation of title Page:
"Offici vivus te Missa. Beati" -- Celebration of your blessed living Mass or living Mass for blessed Joseph. Cof. is the abbreviation for the Latin word confrater which means colleague or brother and was the church title for Brother.
Title page verso is a dedication to the Virgin Mary and starts "Divo Josepho" which is Spanish for Divine Joseph then text switches to Latin.
