This year's Comic-Con International Souvenir Book cover celebrates the legacy of Will Eisner with the 75th anniversary of The Spirit. Artist Michael Cho used a combination of digital and traditional techniques, beginning with thumbnails on paper and then tightening the pencils for the foreground of the buildings digitally. Cho inked the artwork on paper, but then returned to a computer and colored the entire piece digitally.
Michael Cho is a freelance cartoonist/illustrator based in Toronto. His comics work has included Batman Black and White for DC and X-Men First Class for Marvel. His first graphic novel, Shoplifter, debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List in 2014. |
