Elena Kagan was the first woman to hold the position of Solicitor General of the United states. As prescribed in the commission seen here, she was appointed to this position by President Barack Obama on March 19, 2009. As the 45th Solicitor General, Kagan argued six cases before the Supreme Court. President Obama nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court and she took her seat on August 7, 2010. |
