"Tourists & Guests":
Abner Sprague, who operated Sprague Lake Lodge from 1910-40, once wrote about the fast pace of modern tourism, "... there are those you can call nothing but tourists. Those that you go tearing from coast to coast and back again on their vacations are tourists. When they reach home from their travels, they are not certain where they saw this or that..."
About his own resort, Sprague continued, "... The guest comes to stay every minute of his vacation he spare. If he fails to see every nook and corner of the place on one visit, he comes year after year... Our quests never get tired, the same old urge to visit spots seen more than once brings them back on their next vacation. They go home rested."
Sprague Lake still offers opportunities to relax and explore as it did in the early 1900s when Abner Sprague ran his lodge.
