U.S. Submarine Veterans
World War II
"Lest We Forget"
This memorial is dedicated to the 3505 officers and men who lost their lives on 52 US submarines during World War II. A total of 258 submarines manned by 20,000 personnel (16% of naval forces) made combat patrols which accounted for over 55% of all enemy ship losses in the Pacific.
Their families, the US Submarine Veterans of WW II, and a grateful nation remember these victories were "not without tremendous cost"
