The police this time said the exterior barricades were there because they were doing some internal demolition on the building which would be turned into a parking lot for the Verizon Center. On a later visit, I was told the barricades were there because they were protecting a homeland security building. I was told the Subway store at the corner, which I frequent, was going to be removed.
However, on a subsequent tour of the DC Superior Court building, I was told the building was temporarily the Obama transition team building and that the Subway would stay. |
