From 1899 through 1914, both the city's Main Post Office and the US Post Office Department's Headquarters were located here.
While the main Post Office relocated to a new building near Union Station in 1914, the US Post Office Department's Headquarters remained here until 1934, when it moved one block west to the opposite side of 12th Street. |
