Earth Lodge: This structure burned and collapsed about one thousand years ago and was reconstructed in the 1930's. Forty-two feet in diameter, it is the largest of eight earth lodges discovered on the Macon Plateau. People of this plateau probably used the earth lodge for ceremonies and meetings. |
