Zenas Winsor McCay, better known as Winsor McCay, was a writer, illustrator, comic strip artists, animator, and editorial cartoonist. He is best known for his comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland. Inspired by his son's flipbooks, McCay became interested in animation, making a cartoon film based on characters from Little Nemo. He went on to produce additional films, and his most successful animations include The Sinking of the Lusitania and Gertie, the Trained Dinosaur. |
