Tales to Astonish began as a science fiction comic series that included an early version of Groot in issue no. 13 (1960). Later, the series became a split book, divided into two section that each highlighted a different character. While The Incredible Hulk had been canceled in 1963, Tales to Astonish allowed Bruce Banner to once again star in a feature, sharing the spotlight with Giant Man in 1964 and Sub-Mariner in 1965. |
