Page, a military engineer who served as aide-de-camp to British General William Howe, prepared this plan of the Battle of Bunker Hill. The engagement occurred two months after the initial clashes at Lexington and Concord, and the British earned a costly victory over the Americans. The plan features a separate overlay that depicts the changing positions of British troops during the course of the battle.
