Richard Scarry at 100

Richard Scarry (1919-1994) was one of the world's best-loved children's book author-illustrators. Scarry's iconic Busytown books -- which explain the workings of machines, various modes of transportation, and the bustling activity of civic life to children around the world -- are still published in over twenty languages. In honor of his one hundredth birthday, this season's Holiday Express exhibit explores the year of Scarry's birth, 1919, when railroads were keeping the world BUSY!
