In My Own Words
Gothic Architecture

The Cathedral is modeled on medieval cathedrals built in the 14th century English Gothic style. The distinctive arches and buttresses of the Gothic style allowed churches to rise higher and feature larger windows, letting in more light. Everything is designed to draw your eye upward, toward Heavens, and to reflect God's majesty.

Elements of Gothic style:
* Great height
* Pinnacles
* Ribbed vaulting (interior, and north porch)
* Large windows (filled with stained glass)
* Round rose windows
* Pointed arches
* Flying buttresses
* Intricate carvings
