In My Own Words
Welcome

Welcome to Washington's National Cathedral, your cathedral in the nation's capital. We are an active Episcopal church, with worship services, programs and an active community of worshippers and volunteers -- even as we transition into our reopening.

The building was constructed between 1907 and 1990 in the Gothic style of architecture. The scaffold you see in place on the central tower is to stabilize and eventually repair damages from the 2011 earthquake.
There are many interesting items to discover along the Cathedral's exterior. As you walk around our grounds, look for these signs to hear about the Cathedral in the "voice" of one of our carvings.

There's more to my story...
