Washington's Real Estate Holdings

Washington's Mount Vernon plantation made up just one part of a vast real estate empire of nearly 70,000 acres. He owned land in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania as well as in what are now the states of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. He also held properties in Williamsburg, Alexandria, and the new Federal City, including two townhouses on Capitol Hill.
