New York, Feb. 7, 1964 -- Make way for the Beatles -- Police lean into the job for holding back throng of young fans intent of mobbing the British singing group The Beatles as they arrive at their New York hotel today. The screaming crowd was kept behind barricades as the quartet drove up from Kennedy Airport where they had arrived from England earlier. An estimated 5,000 fans cheered their landing at the airport for a series of appearances in the U.S.
