Seen here in 2019, Norman Mineta, former congressman and cabinet member, passed on May 3, 2022. He was the first Asian American cabinet member. He was transportation secretary during the 9/11 attacks and grounded all domestic flights. He pushed for reparations for Japanese Americans interred here during the racist hysteria following the attack on Pearl Harbor. He and his family had been interned at the Heart Mountain, WY internment camp during the war. I presume this information will not be made available to students in snowflake states who want to be protected from learning about the sins of their fathers. |
