Kodak Panoram #4
First introduced in 1899, the Kodak Panoram series of cameras allowed photographers to take panoramic photographs without a pivoting tripod. Unlike panoramic cameras with fixed lenses, the Panoram's lens swung from left to right, covering a range of 142 degrees. The body of the camera remained stationary while the lens moved inside. The resulting negative measured 3-1/2" x 12".
Marketed to serious amateurs, the Panoram cost approximately $20 in 1910, or about $500 in today's currency. A film cartridge, which included four exposures, cost 75 cents -- nearly $20 today. Eastman Kodak continued to manufacture the camera until 1926.
