Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page brought sheer power and monolithic riffs to Led Zeppelin, paving the way for heavy metal. Yet his music defies classification, drawing on blues, folk, funk, Eastern raga, North African, Baroque, and classical music in traditional, modern, and avant-garde styles. Using reverb, echo, wah-wah, and distortion, he has an uncanny ability to create sonic portraits, from the elegance of "Thank You" to the iconic power chords of "Whole Lotta Love."

On view here is Page's full Led Zeppelin–era rig, which he has used in different combinations since 1969 for live performances and studio recordings. The arrangement here is a reconstruction of how it appeared onstage with Led Zeppelin.
