Spectrum of Fashion
Clothing is the most intimate object of personal expression -- a physical manifestation of our identity. In this exhibition, the range of what fashion documents is writ large. Hidden lives of both famous and forgotten Marylanders are revealed, telling stories of makers, wearers, and moments in time. Just like the color spectrum contains an infinite number of hues, fashion itself offers endless possibilities. Selected from almost 12,000 garments, the clothing you will see is but a glimpse of the Fashion Archives at the Maryland Historical Society. |
