The Rosa Parks Collection:
In September 2014 the Library of Congress became the new home of the Rosa Parks Collection on a 10-year loan from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. The Collection (ca 10,000 items) includes personal papers, photographs, books, and awards documenting her private lief and public activism. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, to James and Leona McCauley, Rosa and her brother Sylvester were reared and educated in rural Pine Level, Alabama, bu their schoolteacher mother and grandparents. When Rosa was eleven, she enrolled in the Montgomery Industrial School for Girls.
