Blondie Boopadoop was introduced to the newspaper comic strip pages as a flapper by Chic Young in 1930. When she married Dagwood Bumstead on February 17, 1933, the couple settled down to the routine of domestic life that involved working, raising children, enjoying the company of neighbors, and eating extremely large sandwiches. Here, with a congenial sense of humor, Chic Young has Dagwood hatch a plot to convince Blondie to get rid of a new hat he dislikes. |
