Trolley Dodging Dodgers

Inspired by "trolley dodging" residents on Brooklyn's busy streets, the Dodgers pose on trolley tracks running through the heart of the borough. The team briefly used the moniker "Trolley Dodgers" during a long era of frequent name changes, in which they were variously (and at times simultaneously) known as the Bridegrooms, Superbas, and Robins. In 1932 the franchise permanently settled on calling itself the Dodgers, which linked the team to its fans and urban life as no other name did.
