1994 Baseball Cards

This press sheet shows both player diversity and the state of design a century after the first card sets were produced. It also marks the end of the "Junk Wax Era" (1987–1994), when trading card companies, responding to the rising interest in cards as investments, printed millions annually and swamped the market. Dealers were left with more cards in their wax paper wrappers than they could sell and more sticks of gum than the nation could chew.
