Diary of A.N. See
Book
A few months after the cavalry established themselves as part of Lincoln's daily routine, Company K the 150th Pennsylvania Volunteers arrived at the Soldiers' Home to protect the President and his family. Company K, also known as the "Bucktails" because of a distinctive deer tail they wore on their caps, served as Abraham Lincoln's Presidential Guard from 1862 until the end of the Civil War. Throughout 1864, Albert Nelson ("A.N.") See, a member of Company K, kept a diary detailing his observations of wartime Washington. These pages recount the Julu 1864 attack on Washington.
