This view south from the library roof gives you a good view of the shore of Lake Bonneville. Thousands of years ago, there was supposed a lake which occupied much of western Utah. Eventually, it sprung a leak and over the period of couple dozen years drained into the Snake River up in Idaho. The Great Salt Lake occupies just the bottom of the old lake.
