Working at Virginia's Hampton Institute
In October 1957, Rosa moved alone to Virginia's Hampton Institute to work as hostess of the Holly Tree Inn -- the residence and guest house on the campus. She had hoped to obtain an apartment in Holly Tree Annex so that Raymond and Leona could join her. Because this did not happen, she decided to return to Detroit at the end of the fall semester in 1958. This is one of the letters she sent to Raymond during the months they lived apart. |
