Speaking Tour

In November 1956 Rosa Parks embarked on a speaking tour sponsored by NAACP branches in the Northeast to assist with their fall Freedom Fund and membership campaigns. On November 13, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the federal district court's ruling in Browder v. Gayle that segregated bus seating was unconstitutional. Rosa was en route to Albany, New York, preparing to speak. She noted her reaction to news on the back of this program to update her remarks.
