Babe Ruth Sports
After World War II, non-superhero comics -- such as sports, westerns, romance, and funny animals -- became increasingly popular with the public. Though Babe Ruth himself died in 1948, his legacy lived on with sports fans and the public alike. Running for eleven issues between 1949 and 1951, Babe Ruth Sports Comics featured stories about various sports stars, as well as quizzes, short highlights, and other illustrated articles on numerous sports including baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, wrestling, football, and others. |
