All-Sports Special Issue! Creepy

In 1964, Warren Publishing began producing Creepy as a magazine rather than a comic book in order to circumvent the Comics Code. This poster advertises Creepy, no. 93, one of several issues that focused on a particular theme. Best known as a fantasy and marine artist, Don Maitz graduated from Paier School of Art in Hamden, Connecticut, before launching his career in both magazine and book illustration. He drew three covers for Creepy in the 1970s.
