Though indistinct, this panorama (taken from Wilderness Tavern) shows Ellwood during the Lacy ownership. At least nine outbuildings stood near the main house. Plantations like Ellwood resembled small villages. At times there was probably more than 100 slaves laboring in the fields and workshops at Ellwood. |
