The Power of the Pen
A cartoonist's pen became the symbol of a free and fearless press after the terrorist attack on the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo that killed 12 people on Jan. 7, 2015.
Targeted were the newspaper's editor, four other cartoonists, two columnists and a copy editor. Charlie Hebdo had long satirized controversial topics, publishing provocative cartoons about religion and politics.
