The Story of Doctor Doolittle
This book made an enormous impression on Jane Written by Hugh Lofting in 1920, it tells the tale of an English country doctor whose parrot, Polynesia, teaches him to speak to animals. When Jane's mother checked it out of the library, Jane read it three times before returning it. Jane's grandmother gave her this copy of Christmas in 1942. |
