The first colonists sailed to Virginia aboard three ships. The Susan Constant was a cargo ship of 120-tons, commanded by Captain Christopher Newport, and carried 71 persons. Renowned model maker Augustus Crabtree built this model in 1957 for the 350th commemoration of the founding of Johnstown. |
