Artist bio
Katherine Becker
What Katherine paints is simply a responsive expression to what's happening in the world around her. She is interested in the tension of how emotion, especially as augmented by the aural, such as music and political discussion, can manifest in pure geometric form. Her work reflects the influence of artists such as Frank Stella (composition of colors) and Harvey Littleton (harmonious interaction). Acknowledging the influence of these artists, she refers to her work as "The Geometry of Abstraction: Shape + Color + Interaction."
