In memory of Ulus "Mr. U" Crowder – Honoring a Veteran's Legacy
Our father, Mr. U, contracted COVID-19 while living in a memory care assisted living community. Restrictions prevented me from my daily visits for 12 weeks. After moving him to the hospital for aggressive treatment he seemed to respond well. But on day 5 of admission he peacefully transitioned. As his caregiver for 18 years, it was devastating for our family not to be by his side in his final moments. We will forever cherish the memories and honor his legacy. He was a veteran who served our country for 29 years and was so full of charisma and charm. MSG Crowder survived the Vietnam War and Alzheimer's but lost his final battle to COVID-19.
