Forging Connections
From the beginnings of the capital city in the early 1800s, some people chose to socialize with their own "set," a group based on shared ethnicity or cultural or business interests. Others were deliberately excluded. These impulses spurred the creation of private clubs, which have more to say about who were were -- and who we are. |
