On November 29, 2012, the City of San Diego and The Westfield Group broke ground on a new world-class urban plaza adjacent to the history Horton Park in downtown San Diego. The project, the result of a unique public-private partnership, will create a dynamic central gathering space and restore the existing park to its rightful statue as a regional treasure. The Mayor of San Diego and members of the City Council listed below played a significant role in making the new urban plaza a reality. Those identified as "Horton's Heroes" were instrumental in either the creation or revitalization of Horton Park or the redevelopment of downtown San Diego. |
