The word manga means "doodles" or "idle jottings." This series of books carries the name of a major genre of Japanese contemporary culture. Many books by Hokusai share the nature of today's manga as social commentaries. Hokusai manga, however, were above all introduced to show off the breadth of his artistic skill. |
