Wash, Rinse, Repeat
Since its beginning in 2010, Washed Ashore has processed tons of plastic pollution from beaches into monumental art that is awakening the hearts and minds of viewers to the marine debris crisis. It is a labor intensive process. Community members, tourists, park rangers, schools, etc. drop off collected beach debris at Washed Ashore's processing facility. The work begins... collect, dump, rinse, sort, design, rinse, soak, wash, scrub, rinse, dry, design, sort, test, sort, cut, drill, stich [sic], twist, string, weave, design, attach, test, secure, and done!
Now your work begins... tell others what you are learning and take personal action against plastic pollution. Every purchase, every discard has an impact. Our work will continue as long as the marine debris tragedy continues. People working together can create BIG results. This project proves it! So get started. Our dream is to run out of art supplies.
