"It gets pretty cold in here at times. The temperature last winter fell to seven degrees above zero," Mr. Helm stated in an interview in the late 1960's [sic]. To protect himself, Helm wore electrically-heated socks, thermal underwear, and thin gloves with the fingers cut away. "It's comfortable in the summer. There's usually a nice breeze." Mr. A. W. Helm was an observer from 1957-1976.
